EOS Climate is excited to announce a new program that will prevent emissions of powerful greenhouse gas emissions by increasing recovery and reclamation of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants.
The program is part of collaboration between EOS and the leading organizations in the refrigerant industry – The Indoor Environment & Energy Efficiency Association (ACCA), Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI), The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), and The Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric Policy. This partnership is one of several important initiatives that was announced at a White House HFC industry roundtable on October 15.
A cornerstone of this new program is the inclusion of verified emission reductions (VERs) resulting from production and use of reclaimed HFC refrigerant, in conformance with a new GHG protocol authored by EOS Climate and approved this week by the American Carbon Registry – Emission Reduction Measurement and Monitoring Methodology for Use of Reclaimed HFC Refrigerants and Advanced Refrigeration Systems.
